I was brought to the ER and then admitted to the Maternity ward as an emergency due to pregnancy complications I was having due to my labor and delivery of my child the prior week. I was given several tests and was alone due to the fact that my husband was staying with my young children at home. I was scared and afraid. The doctor on staff told me that my heart was seen on the ct scan as the problem and maybe giving out. Of course, this created a spiral of emotions and lead me and my family to panic since I was a new mom. The nurse on staff was Marcella and she was beyond her job and created a safe space for me as a patient to vent and cry with the news. She was caring and concerned. She made my stay go from sterile to like family. She was mentally aware of my needs at every turn. Marcella was also my advocate. This experience is one I will never forget and will share with others. Marcella is a wonderful caring old school nurse who should be praised and appreciated
