Margaret Runco was nominated for her decades of dedication and excellent service on the orthopaedic unit. Her clinical expertise has made her a reliable mentor and resource to her peers. Margaret’s commitment to quality care and excellence has encouraged her to participate in many patient outcome improvement initiatives. She teaches a joint class to better prepare patients for their surgery, and has enhanced the program by having the many orthopaedic devices available that patients may use during their hospital stay. She also has added additional educational endeavors for the patient’s vehicle choices at the time of discharge to decrease patient falls.

Margaret is deeply involved in the VTE program and her enthusiasm motivates her peers. She is a wonderful role model and inspiration to her co-workers and truly is deserving of this award.
