Marguerite held my hand, she held my mother’s hand; she was invested and we felt close to her as we left.
Last year I was one of the 1st COVID cases in the county. The doctors had no idea why I was so sick guessing everything from a staph infection in my lungs to MRSA. Marguerite was my nurse off and on for the 17 days I was in the hospital. She was great with me and my whole family who were scared. At one point, my mother flew in from Florida not knowing the outcome. Marguerite helped her and talked to her when she cried in the hallway; she told her I would be ok. Marguerite got her a pillow when she refused to sleep and stayed by me in that uncomfortable chair all day and night. Marguerite was there with the doctors every time I stopped breathing. She held my hand, she held my mother’s hand; she was invested and we felt close to her as we left. Just recently I was admitted for pancreatitis and saw Marguerite’s face again. When the air didn't work in my room she brought me ice packs and cold towels. When I was in pain she was there to make sure to do what she could to ease my pain and discomfort. She encouraged my journey and healthy future.
