Marissa picked up on my fear and told me not to worry. She planned to stay late to finish paperwork and to make sure I stayed on my pain schedule.
During my most recent stay at Forbes, I once again was on the receiving end of exceptional care from the nursing staff. I am battling stage 3 pancreatic cancer. Recently it became necessary to modify my pain management. In the middle of the night, I awoke in a great deal of pain. My regimen is one tablet every 4 hours. I worried that if I took the pill as scheduled, the next dosage would be due during shift change. I feared that by the time the oncoming daylight nurse got to me, I would be in excruciating pain again in the 8-10 range. Fortunately, Marissa picked up on my fear and told me not to worry. She planned to stay late to finish paperwork and to make sure I stayed on my pain schedule. At 7:30 am Marissa did just as she had promised, thereby eliminating all of my fear and anxiety. That kind of dedication cannot be found as a result of a paycheck. That commitment comes from the heart.
