Marissa made sure that she stayed calm and allowed no one else to speak to me until she was sure I was fully awake.
This nurse was concerned about my concerns and tried to keep me calm and communicate with me. I have an issue with a med that makes you relax, stay awake and not know (Versed). I then addressed the issue with the RN and anesthesiologist. Marissa went from bringing me from the floor on a Sunday, listened, and addressed my concerns. She went into the OR with me because she knew how I was becoming more anxious as time grew closer. Then when in there (OR) I cried and she talked me to sleep holding my mask and reassuring me all will be okay. After surgery is where I have concerns about receiving Versed. She made sure that she stayed calm and allowed no one else to speak to me until she was sure I was fully awake. She went above and beyond and she should be honored as the Great Nurse she is!! One can only strive to be so passionate.
