My mom was a patient in the Avita Bucyrus Community Hospital. During that time we came in contact with her nurse, Mary Antjas, on several occasions. We had multiple physical and emotional needs. Mary provided expert nursing care as well as a great deal of support helping us through many tough decisions. She was significant in ways that are beyond the medical textbooks and protocols, she was very professional, caring, genuine, honest, skilled, and made me feel like we were important and she made us her priority no matter how busy it was. She mentioned nursing was an art and science. She definitely has excelled in both of these areas in our experience. I would think Avita should really value her as quite a special employee and recognize and validate the work that she does for her patients and families. Going above and beyond in her daily routine of caring.
