Matthew
Robinson
,
MSN, RN, CCRN
6 Shorb COVID Unit/MICU
Methodist University Hospital
Matt gave me updates over the phone and then arranged with the manager to have her moved to a private room where one of us could be with her when she died.
Matt kept me informed and updated on my sister's condition. No visitors were allowed in the hospital. My sister was in the ICU COVID unit and did not wake up and was going to have her breathing tube taken out and then was told she would die.
I did not understand this and Matt Robinson gave me updates over the phone and then arranged with the manager to have her moved to a private room where one of us could be with her when she died. Matt went above and beyond to explain everything, the why of it all including the masks and other equipment. Her biggest fear was that she would die alone.
I really think he and that team are heroes just because they come in and volunteer to be on that unit.
To this day I have nightmares about how she looked and how she gasped but Matt made the situation easier. He is a superhero for our family.
