McCoy had an amazing impact on this 8-year old patient, turning his frowns into smiles and his attitude from depressed and miserable to happy and ready to move forward. “Best Birthday” ever was this patient’s comment. McCoy made it his mission to make the patient’s birthday special, in addition to caring for him. McCoy had him out of bed, building Lego’s, eating his dinner and cake, and surprised him with pretend candles, decorations and prizes for his birthday.
