I am a faculty member at UTHSC in the College of Nursing, DNP Nurse Anesthesiology Concentration as well as a practicing CRNA. Recently, I have been on the assistant caregiver side of healthcare with my niece. This precious two-year-old has endured a complicated course related to a congenital omphalocele and staged surgical repair. In the midst of overwhelming circumstances, one of your Nurse Practitioners has repeatedly shined a bright light on our situation. Our family wishes to express our heartfelt appreciation for the kindness and excellent care my niece has received from your own Megan Rushing, NP. Megan has continued to go above and beyond in every sense of the phrase. We all have her cell phone number, and she has been quick to respond to my sister-in-law, regardless of the time of day or night. Her knowledge and expertise have brought immense comfort and peace to all of us. Megan is motivated, professional, compassionate, organized, and a fantastic example of all the good things in this world. Our road is far from over. But, with Megan and our doctor at the helm of the ship, we are hopeful my niece is right on course. We are incredibly thankful for Megan and for all of you who continue to make Le Bonheur an exemplary place for patients and families.
