I had emergency surgery, and Melanie was my main OR Nurse. I am a CTMF employee, and Melanie made me proud to be a nurse and to have her represent and be a part of CTMF. Due to the nature of the surgery and it being emergent, she comforted me so much just by holding my hand as I was given my anesthesia. I remember it so well just seeing her eyes before drifting to sleep. Most patients are given meds so they do not remember everything, but I do due to my internal bleeding. She did everything she could to keep me comfortable until surgery could begin.
When they were waking me up Melanie was there holding my hand. I want to thank Melanie for being there that day. She made me proud to have her taking care of our patients as well as myself. She was caring and compassionate, and it showed that nursing is her passion. I believe she definitely deserves the DAISY Award for going above and beyond and easing my anxiety.

Melanie has shown compassion to every single patient who she has on a daily basis. She has stayed by their side to take care and comfort the patient before they have surgery. She has always been a hard worker and very dedicated to her job. The love she has for her job shows in all she does. It has always been a joy to work with her. I believe she deserves this extraordinary award.
