We have a patient that has been with us since August 2012 with a diagnosis of Guillain Barre. He is from Mexico with no family here and is unable to move from the neck down. Michelle wanted to bring a little holiday cheer to him as he became a member of our work family. She organized with the manager and staff to have "Mariachis'" come in and celebrate with us. We brought him to the nurses' station in a chair along with a few other patients we had who were homeless or without family. We sang and prayed together and Michelle gave a speech about how much he meant to us and how we wanted to share with him. It was touching as she cried through her speech and as we all cried knowing how he has touched our hearts. Michelle is a true DAISY at all times. She is committed to excellence but she also has great compassion for human life and will go above and beyond for her co-workers and all the patients she comes in contact with.
