Myra is the definition of a caring and professional nurse. I am nominating her for her kind, and compassionate heart. Myra had a patient who had a trach, PICC line, and multiple other medical conditions that were very new and unfamiliar to the patient. The Veteran was ready to be discharged and, with the help of our charge nurse, they made sure our Veteran had the items he desperately needed at his home to continue his care. Myra made sure this Veteran had the proper supplies to ensure his safety, the education on his new diagnosis, as well as treating him with the utmost respect. Myra also had an RRT (Rapid Response) called on one of her other patients while taking care of the other Veteran's needs, Myra responded in such a calm, yet professional manner and had the situation under control, Myra remained calm and put her Veterans' needs before herself. She is more than just an amazing nurse. She treats every Veteran as she would want to be treated. She is dedicated to her profession and a joy to work beside. 4 East loves and appreciates all she adds to our world.
