A newborn's stint in the NICU is every parents worst nightmare. Our son spent 10 days in the NICU for heart problems. During those 10 days, we went through everything under the sun trying to identify exactly what ailed him. During this time, we had the privilege of getting to know Nancy who took care of our son often. Nancy embodies everything a NICU Nurse should be, and by the end of our stay she was a bright part of our day and someone we looked forward to seeing in the face of such a stressful and uncertain time. It was so nice to find a nurse who was compassionate, very knowledgeable while also funny and light-hearted. We trusted Nancy to shoot it straight with us, in the kindest possible way, when it came to our son's condition, and found her support to be invaluable. All the nurses we encountered were great, but Nancy for us, was a cut above and we hope she will be recognized as such.
