My mother came to South Buffalo Mercy through the ER. She spent some time in ICU, but then was transferred to the 5th floor. Nicole was an angel. She was kind and very attentive.
My mom fractured her pelvis was at Buffalo General and then to rehab. While at rehab she had a sudden onset of respiratory distress and came to the ER here to South Buffalo Mercy. In the past 4 weeks since her ordeal started I have not felt comfortable enough to leave my mother's side.
From the time we arrived in the ED at Mercy we, especially mom, have received great care by great people. For 2 days we had Nicole as mom's nurse. Thanks to Nicole, I felt mom was in a safe place and I could go home and sleep.
Nicole was attentive and didn't mind my repeat calls to check in on my mom. I would call at night before I went to bed. I was able to be home and sleep without an ounce of worry. In the morning, I could call again and Nicole would give me an update as to how mom's night was. One morning when I called the phone just rang. Twice I called and hung up thinking they were all working hard and very busy. I knew my mom was not the only patient there. Shortly, my phone rang, it was Nicole, just calling to say, "I know how much you worry about your mom and I just wanted to give you a morning update".
Thank you Nicole. You are a true caring person, a great nurse and a true angel to my family!
