Paige treated my sister with respect and care the entire time she was admitted, her in all decisions, including helping her write notes when she couldn't verbally speak.
Paige took care of my sister the three nights she was admitted to the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU). My sister is an adult congenital heart disease patient who was in the hospital for a routine procedure that had serious complications. The first night she was in the CICU she was intubated, and honestly, Paige was just as much a caregiver for me as a family member as she was for my sister, the patient. Paige was thoughtful and attentive to my needs as a coping family member, making sure any questions I had were answered, as well as encouraging me to get the sleep/rest that I needed. She treated my sister with respect and care the entire time she was admitted, her in all decisions, including helping her write notes when she couldn't verbally speak. She tried to save her arterial line to avoid unnecessary pokes and was the only nurse who asked my sister if she wanted to try to wash her hair or brush her teeth. I know that she really appreciated this, as it was the closest she felt to "normal" during her entire hospital stay. I cannot express how thankful I am to Paige for taking such excellent care of my sister. She may be a "pediatric" nurse, but she sure knows how to take great care of an adult patient, as well as her adult family members. Thanks, Paige.
