My daughter was hospitalized for pneumonia. She suffered from a high level of anxiety and her hospitalization created a great deal of stress for her. Pam always had such a friendly and positive demeanor and immediately made my daughter feel comfortable. Whenever Pam entered the room she would ask my daughter if she needed anything and always went above and beyond to make her happy. In a few short days, they developed a friendship and my daughter looked forward to seeing her.
When I was there, she also accommodated my needs. Pam was our discharge nurse, which we could not have been happier about. My daughter told me she wanted to nominate Pam for the DAISY Award and I agreed that Pam was well deserved for this recognition.
Unfortunately, my daughter died two days after she got home. Although she was not able to personally nominate Pam for the award, I know how much it meant to her and I choose to submit this nomination in her honor. Thank you, Pam.
