If my husband and I had one word to describe our nurse, Pansy Haynes-Mayfield, it would be love. From the moment we met her, even though she wasn't our babies' primary nurse, she poured her love into our twins and our family. She took it upon herself to place scriptures in their isolettes and pray over them. She gave us hope and told us to speak positive words to them, regardless of what we saw or heard. What struck us then and still strikes us about her is her strong and matter of fact faith. Before she became our primary nurse, I saw her in the unit with her son. She introduced us and told her son that these are the babies we have been praying for. That truly touched me. She has picked up our spirits on many occasions when we were feeling down. We were ecstatic to have her as our primary nurse. She poured her faith into our girls when they were 23 weeks and continues to do so. We believe that our girls' progress is a direct result of her faith and prayers.
