I came into recovery in severe pain and yet every time I got pain medication my breathing slowed causing desaturation of my O2. I also had not expected to be in such severe pain. Nurse Patti was so comforting, explaining that the operation I had is often one of the most severely painful. She held my hand and rubbed my back and continued to remind me to breathe, giving me my CPAP, which helped tremendously and encouraging me which meant the most of all. She tried to help me change position frequently because of my severe musculoskeletal arthritis pain, which I appreciated so much. Nurse Patti also educated me; she called several locations trying to get me the electrical component for the K-Pad. She was everything you hope your nurse will be. She goes above and beyond for her patients like she did for me - thank you, Patti!
