Ray is a valued member of our team and constantly goes above his job description daily. He is an assistant nurse manager who truly cares for his staff and treats every employee with respect. Ray displays the true meaning of a leader daily, actively stepping up to help staff when in need and overwhelmed. When there is no break coverage, Ray is the first to volunteer to cover everyone's break. He is constantly jumping into traumas when an extra nurse is needed and place an IV even if he is busy himself.
Ray defines the meaning of a leader, aware that "no task is below him." Despite his leadership role and title, he is one of those managers that get up from behind the desk and isn't afraid to roll his sleeves up and jump into action. He always has an open-door policy. Our entire staff feels comfortable to be able to come to him with any concerns or issues we are experiencing and always does his best to correct the problem by either escalating it or finding the appropriate resource. I believe every manager can learn something from him, as he is the true meaning of a leader. We are truly blessed and beyond lucky to have Ray in our department. I don't believe it would function as well without him.
