Tall Nurse Rob was so very gentle with C and treated C with such respect. Every time he did anything to C, he would talk to him about what he was doing.
My first thought of Nurse Rob was that C would have liked him. Nurse Rob tried his best to explain what was being done for C, but I believe after speaking to me he could see I was in a state of disbelief. I kept telling everyone that my son just fell and he would not get up, so he called me for help. Nurse Rob continued to reassure me that he would do everything he could to keep C comfortable and in no pain. My son was unconscious, and on a respirator, so it was very important to have someone like Nurse Rob monitoring everything hooked to my son. Tall Nurse Rob was so very gentle with C and treated C with such respect. Every time he did anything to C, he would talk to him about what he was doing. I couldn’t understand what he was saying but I found comfort in hearing his voice, so very low and gentle. Tall Nurse Rob also tried his best to help me in any way he could. I know there were only supposed to be 2 visitors in a room, but once I notified C’s sister and aunt and they came to be with C and me, not once did Nurse Rob make us leave. Tall Nurse Rob was in my life for 2 twelve-hour shifts, only 24 hours, but because of his gentle, kind, caring manner during this “worst nightmare” as a mother, there was a deep peace that everything was being done that could be done to save my son.
