I wouldn’t have wanted anyone else to take us to recovery.
I checked in at midnight for a scheduled induction, and Rose was the night nurse there to greet us upon arrival. I was scared and nervous for the upcoming days, but she helped put me at ease with her knowledge, assurance, and, most importantly, kindness. She was so informative when asked questions but explained the facts in a way that I, a non-clinical person, could understand, and that took a lot of the fear out of the process. I felt instantly comfortable with her as she could laugh and joke with us but also kept me updated on how my labor was progressing (not very well). She not only checked on my physical wellbeing but my mental health as well and stressed the importance of being an advocate for myself while I was in the hospital. While I did end up needing a cesarean in the end, I was so relieved and thankful when she started her shift and hurried down to where I was being operated on and made sure I knew she was there. I felt instantly relieved that she was in the room and cared enough to come and greet me. I wouldn’t have wanted anyone else to take us to recovery- another slightly scary and challenging time that she used to make the extra effort to assure me that things would be okay, what I was feeling was normal, etc. The extra care she took was such a large part of my overall experience, and I was extremely thankful to get to know her the three nights we were in her care. Please recognize this outstanding nurse as she truly went above and beyond to care for my family and make our experience a positive one. I will never be able to look back at this experience and not think of our wonderful nurse Rose!
