Ruby models empathy and demonstrates a caring attitude every day I see her at work. She is a team player and is very enthusiastic. Ruby not only provides exceptional care to her patients, but she is recognized for going above and beyond to being the best co-worker any nurse could ask for. For instance, she takes it upon herself to ensure her co-workers are freed to go for lunch. Ruby often volunteers to cover for their patients if the co-worker hasn't been relieved of duty. Ruby, as a nurse walks along the unit, as if she is a dropped pearl on the floor. A pearl, when dropped, runs everywhere it can until the pearl is stopped.

Ruby also is actively involved in safe patient initiatives, where she serves on the Hospital council. Her duties involve educating her peers and auditing for adoption of safe behaviors. Ruby has been recognized for good safety catches. She is an esteemed clinical coach and recognized by her peers as a wealth of knowledge and skill.
