At my final OB appointment before having my son the NST showed an irregularity with my son's heartbeat. I was sent directly to the hospital where Sam greeted my husband and me on the maternity floor. Sam explained what they were going to do, kept a calm demeanor, and kept a stressful situation from becoming scary. After my son was born, Sam was our nurse when we went to recovery. She made a point of saying she remembered us from Monday's monitoring, confirming an established relationship with us. She was wonderful with my recovery. She addressed concerns with my pain, breastfeeding, and any issues we had with our baby. When I needed assistance in the restroom she responded quickly and immediately got what I needed. She was extremely thorough as we were discharged and she even helped us to the car.
