We had a 19 year old patient on our unit for an extended period of time. He suffered from a TBI and his recovery process was long and tiresome for his family who was constantly at his bedside. Sandra took care of this patient many times and developed a great relationship, not only with the patient himself, but his family. She kept them updated and communicated well with our MDs. She made a sign at home for his room, "Go C. GO!" and the whole staff signed it. It was in his room where he could see it for inspiration. The family really appreciated all the extra care she gave to them.

Sandra is an amazing charge nurse and is so resourceful and helpful. She assisted a newer nurse with a re-intubation and facilitated getting the residents to the patient's bedside immediately. They were prioritizing a less critical patient above this acute event. She did this all in a supportive, calm manner and remained professional. She was an excellent advocate for the patient and resource for the nurse.
