Sarah demonstrates detailed patient-centered care using her clinical knowledge combined with her genuine compassion for patients. Sarah is very attentive to her patients and their families/friends. Sarah has demonstrated she is an excellent listener and ensures the patient that they are being heard and that their concerns/questions are being addressed. She is a great patient advocate as well as a very supportive co-worker.

Sarah stands up for what she knows is right, she is very well educated in hospital policies and is a great educator in helping other staff members when they need help. Sarah is the type of nurse one wants for their own family member which says a lot.

Sarah goes to great lengths to create a healing environment for her patients. When she has a pediatric patient, she will offer stickers, toys, music, cartoons, and anything to make both the patient and their parents' hospital experience as comfortable as possible. Sarah recognizes when family members need support and education just as much as the patients and addresses this appropriately and in a time-sensitive manner. She treats every patient like you would want to be treated as a patient. She is patient, calm, and very efficient in stressful situations.

Sarah excels in the many different aspects of emergency room nursing. She is a great teammate always offering help when she can. She remains calm and collected in high-pressure situations. She is knowledgeable and competent in all required tasks and skills required by ED RNs. Sarah goes above and beyond the criteria for the DAISY Award as anyone who has worked with her or been treated by her would agree.
