Sarah is always on top of any issues her patients may incur and she is extremely keen when it comes to reading the telemetry monitor. She is often able to interpret heart problems before they arise, immediately communicating her concerns with Froedtert's Rapid Response team. While being a bright, young nurse who always steps up to help her co-workers, she also has a deep compassion for her patients.
One afternoon, Sarah returned from a patient's room and shared a story, which truly was simply beautiful. She had just danced with one of her patients. As we listened to her touching experience, we learned that her patient was an elderly man who had music playing softly in his room while Sarah was at the bedside speaking to him. He mentioned that he would like to dance. Sarah honored his request and danced with him and when they were done, he had tears in his eyes. She asked him if everything was okay, and he explained that he and his wife had always danced together and that he had missed her deeply. Sarah gave him a moment in time, touching his heart with memories of his wife and the love they shared.
