Our wife/mother was "Code Blue" from the 4th Floor, and the nurse in charge of receiving, managing and calming the patient and family was Sarah. Once things were organized and the patient was cared for gracefully, the attending physician told her husband that 'he could relax as his wife has the best nurse and will receive excellent care.' Another RN told him that 'Sarah will take great care of your wife.' Sarah represents EVERYTHING and more that BBMC should want in their professional nurses: compassion in the healing process for the patient AND their worried family members, giving patients and family comfort and hope during the most difficult times, using her medical expertise and experience to walk the family through each step of treatment and what to expect, was honest and truthful to family members in a kind and gentle fashion, and was caring, kind, respectful and personable - need we say more? Sarah helped us to prepare and accept the termination of life support for our loved one. Our loved one took God's hands with dignity and comfort due to Sarah's great empathy for her patients. She was indeed our 'Nursing Angel' and we will always remember her in our hearts.

Sarah always comes to work with a good attitude. She takes great care of her patients - she bathes and shaves them, and is such a champion with early mobility. She gets people up and moving! She is very helpful, works well with her patients, families, and doctors, and is such a team player. Even though she was on vacation, I sent her a text for help and she and her husband reached out to missionaries to visit with a dying patient. It was above and beyond! She is also so creative and pours that into her work. She designs beautiful bulletin boards and posters for the committees that she contributes her time to, and is always willing to come in to help when we are short-staffed.
