Shannon has gone above and beyond on multiple occasions for our Veterans. On one occasion, she brought Super Bowl snacks for one of our dialysis patients, because he was in inpatient rehab during the Super Bowl. On another occasion, she assisted a Veteran with purchasing clean clothes and shoes to keep at his nursing home as he had no family support. She also assisted this same Veteran with finding a nice suit and shoes for his brother's funeral.
On multiple occasions, Shannon has assisted one of our female Veterans. She prepared a special birthday meal per request of lobster tail, baked potato, and salad as this Veteran has been inpatient in NLR for quite some time. This Veteran has no family or support system, and Shannon has helped to make sure she has clean clothes and shoes. These are just a few of the highlights of her skillful and compassionate care that she shows our Veterans every day.
Shannon demonstrates the VA's I CARE core values. She demonstrates excellence through her clinical expertise and compassionate care. She is a role model and makes a meaningful difference within our dialysis unit and CAVHS. Shannon is most definitely an extraordinary nurse!
