I want to nominate Sherrie Taylor for the DAISY Award for her outstanding nursing care. My mother was in MICU for 15 days during her stay. Of those 15 days Sherrie was assigned to her for six (6) of them. She not only kept Mom comfortable, she conversed with her and kept Mom amused with little things going on in the outside world.
Sherrie was always pleasant and cheerful to the many numbers of family and friends who visited Mom in MICU. Whenever questions were asked concerning Mom's care, she was willing to find the answers or get a doctor on board. I was witness to several procedures and her skills as a nurse are exceptional in my opinion.
Sherrie also seemed to be well respected by her peers and knows how to get the job done whether it was for her patients or that of a fellow nurse.
Even after Mom was transported to Ohio State University/Wexner Medical Center, Sherrie once again proved to me how above and beyond she is willing to go. I needed a physician referral letter and I called her for information. She was on her game as usual and called me back with the information I requested in less than an hour.
Not only does Sherrie deserve this award, she deserves a HUGE pat on the back!
