My brother left this world in a gentle way and was without pain or suffering with me by his side.
I am writing this letter to express the deep respect, admiration, and love I feel toward the entire staff in the ICU Department, but especially to Shirley. My brother was admitted and I was not made aware until 2 weeks later. At this time, I was informed by Shirley that his condition was deteriorating and that I should come see him. My brother's condition continued to decline. When my husband and I decided to go home I felt comfortable leaving him knowing that there was wonderful staff who were caring for him and that they would lovingly care for him until I returned. His condition continued to worsen. Shirley was incredible as she gently spoke to him while providing him with outstanding care. She also provided my husband and I with guidance and loving support. My brother left this world in a gentle way and was without pain or suffering with me by his side. Shirley and the staff were so very kind, gentle and thoughtful, allowing us to stay with him. I will remember her with much affection and appreciation.
