You may not understand what that small act of kindness did for my dad, but it was such a loving act of kindness.
Steve was my father’s nurse for three days. I want to thank Nurse Steve for his attention and patience with my dad. Steve was very friendly and my father was so comforted by his care. Steve would come in at the end of each shift and introduce the nurse who was going to take over my dad’s care.

The second night we had Steve, he came in and introduced the next nurse. My dad asked if he could get up and walk before going to bed. The new nurse said they would try to get him up later for a walk. We could tell everyone was very busy and thought it was unlikely that my dad would get to walk that night. Then Steve showed up. Steve took the time to come and walk my dad after his shift ended because he knew how important it was to him. My father and I loved him for that. You may not understand what that small act of kindness did for my dad, but it was such a loving act of kindness.

Steve never showed fatigue and was always smiling. He always treated Dad with such positive emotions and that was so meaningful to us. We were so lucky to have him for the multiple days we did. I really feel that my dad was able to go home because of the loving care Steve gave him.

Steve, We want to say thank you so much. You are awesome. May God give you many years of health so you can continue to be the person you are and touch other lives the way you touched ours. Thank you and we will always remember you.
