It's been a year and a half since my daughter S passed away from cervical cancer. All nurses in this station are truly amazing, but we were blessed with Susie on several stays. She was such a breath of fresh air. She was energetic, friendly and caring. Just watching her do her rounds, you could see the other nurses admired her also.
My daughter instantly felt better when Susie was around. She felt cared for and safe. She was my daughter's advocate. Through her experience, she knew when something was wrong and what was and wasn't working. She tended to my daughter's every need, comforting her, talking to her with her own experiences and giving her courage and hope. Susie was the last person that my daughter spoke to before she passed. Even while in hospice, Susie came to see her and make sure that she was ok. She was a great comfort to our family.
