Sydney saw us through some of our darkest and most emotional days showing my husband and me the most compassion either of us had ever experienced in our lives.
My newborn daughter was in the ICN for 2.5 weeks after birth over Christmas and New Year due to a PDA and a pending Trisomy21 diagnosis. This was particularly surprising given that all of my prenatal testing indicated no genetic issues; so my husband and I were dealing with a broad spectrum of emotions in addition to managing all of the anxieties that come with a first child. Sydney was assigned to our daughter on her second day in the ICN and she immediately became a beacon of comfort and strength for my husband and me nearly immediately. Not only was Sydney incredibly patient and informative with all of our questions but also ensured that a physician was put in front of us whenever we expressed any frustrations. Additionally, Sydney saw us through some of our darkest and most emotional days showing my husband and me the most compassion either of us had ever experienced in our lives. Whenever we knew that Sydney was working whether she was assigned to our daughter or not we felt at ease because we knew she always kept an eye on her for us. We truly believe that the universe put Sydney in our lives through that experience to help guide us through and put us at ease. She is truly one of the best humans I have ever known as she leads with both knowledge and compassion.
