My 11-day old son had an LMA placed for an MRI and was given Ativan, which we now know he is allergic to. His original nurse for the morning was very dismissive of my concerns so we asked for a different nurse. Taylor was brought in to care for him and within seconds determined that something was very wrong. She had cared for him just a few days prior and could easily see that he was not the same baby he was two days ago. She immediately jumped in and started caring for him and also called his medical team in to evaluate his current condition. Ever since that day, Taylor has been the greatest blessing to our family. She is constantly checking on our son, giving us great ideas for his care, and truly cares about our entire family. That day she agreed to be his primary nurse and we will never be able to repay her for the peace of mind she gives us when he is under her care. Taylor is constantly looking for ways to improve his situation of care and is always consulting with us and teaching us about the new things she tries with him. She has encouraged us and been straight with us through all of his issues and needs. She loves and cares for our son and has been welcoming to our entire, crazy, chaotic family. Taylor isn't just our nurse now, she is family. And family is the greatest gift we could ever ask for while we are learning to walk this scary and unexpected road.
