She creates a supportive environment where staff are inspired to do their very best and achieve better outcomes for themselves as well as our patients and families.
It is our greatest pleasure to nominate Tinoosh Eftekharian, MSN, RN, Specialty Clinics Manager, for the DAISY Nurse Leader Award. We would like to recognize Tinoosh for her outstanding work and compassionate leadership over the past 20 years at CHOC. She is an exceptional, seasoned manager that serves as a wealth of knowledge for her various divisions. Tinoosh is always visible in the outpatient areas and willing to help in any way she can. She takes time out of her schedule to resolve issues with everyone’s best interest in mind. Tinoosh leads many projects and initiatives including the recent Specialty Clinics expansion. She constantly advocates for growth and is the reason why Bridge Clinic and Interventional Radiology Clinic exist today. Bridge Clinic started in August 2019 and continues to help many NICU graduates transition to the outpatient setting. Families have said that without the Bridge Clinic, their transition to home with their NICU baby would have been much more difficult. This clinic helps ‘bridge’ the transition to home by fostering caregiver confidence and independence. Many anxious families are more at ease after being educated on this very specialized care at home.

Tinoosh is a huge advocate for Magnet Nursing and was a winner of the 2021 Commission of Magnet Poster Competition for her presentation “Service Excellence to Improve Patient and Family Experience.” She truly role-models leadership behaviors for all nurses and associates within her divisions and across the organization.

Additionally, she is very passionate about continuous professional development and quality improvement. She motivates staff with a shared vision and encourages critical thinking and problem-solving at both the individual and team levels. She creates a supportive environment where staff are inspired to do their very best and achieve better outcomes for themselves as well as our patients and families. We thank you Tinoosh for your incredible leadership and for demonstrating the true attributes of a DAISY Nurse Leader!

A few special comments from our wonderful CHOC providers:

“Tinoosh embodies the mission and spirit of CHOC in her constant focus on family-centered, compassionate care. She is truly the heart and soul of the clinics. She provides steady and consistent leadership to assure that the staff not only perform as needed but actually want to provide the best of care. She is an incredible motivator and mentor, helping to develop talent from in-house staff and those new to the CHOC family. Tirelessly, she partners with providers to try to meet the needs of diverse services in a fair and equitable fashion. With such an incredibly difficult assignment, and spending long hours tackling so many tasks, Tinoosh always has a smile and a good word to dispense. I am honored and proud to call Tinoosh my friend, colleague and partner.”

“I appreciate Tinoosh's efforts in supporting our rheumatology team through the challenges of the last couple of years. She is collaborative, accessible, flexible and supports her clinical staff team.”

“Tinoosh is wonderful. She is always there to support us. I feel very comfortable knowing she is our clinic manager. She cares and gets challenges resolved.” -

“Tinoosh has always been very supportive of hematology. She is a wonderful resource for our division. She advocated for us to have more space as our division grew and found more clinical support as we expanded. She is always helpful and never says, “It’s not my job.” She works very hard and I’m glad to see her efforts being recognized and awarded! Thank you for always supporting us.”

“I appreciate her commitment and dedication to the Lipid clinic over the years.”
