I have recently moved to the L.A. area and have yet to make friends, leaving me feeling lonely and isolated. The 6 West Team did something I never experienced at a hospital. There was something different, I felt a sense of friendship with the team. Not once did I feel like "just another patient". Not only did they check on me, but they also really got to know me. They did not just come to see me to check my vitals and give me medications, they asked what I enjoyed doing and if we share any interests. The team might never know how lonely I was and feeling before, giving up any hope of getting better. But because of the extra mile, they all collectively went beyond, I could not have asked for a more perfect experience. I want to give a shout-out to specific individuals: Ryan B., Annie, Jerry, Sandy, Mayjoy, Chelsea W., Reina, Ryan M., Alice, Sisy, Tadeh, and Jessica K. There are not enough words that I could come up with to truly express my immense gratitude I have for this team. Together, they deserve recognition.
