My family and I would like to thank Abbey Fordyce for her compassionate care for our family member; husband, father, brother and grandfather. He had been battling cancer for quite some time. Near the end, it took a toll on him. He decided he wanted to be in the comfort of his own home filled with the ones he loved for his remaining time here with us on earth. Therefore, he chose to go on hospice.
I feel that hospice nurses don't get the recognition they deserve. Hospice matters! The end of life deserves as much beauty, care, and respect as the beginning. Abbey was the hospice nurse who showed up that evening after we called in about his passing. She was also the nurse a few times prior to that and was able to spend time with him while he was still with us. My family and I couldn't stop talking about what an amazing nurse he had. Abbey was so kind-hearted, had a loving touch, made us feel loved, comforted and made sure we didn't have to worry about a thing. She took care of it all. Thank you, Abbey, for your outstanding work ethic and caring heart. The entire hospice staff is filled with God's loving angels!
