Our family matriarch, my grandma, had taken ill and it became clear that she needed the care and comfort from the hospital to carry out her last final days. Treatment could not save her. Our entire family came to be with her, including her 2 remaining children, her 5 grandchildren, spouses of the above, and some great grandchildren. Her wishes were to be made comfortable until the end. Both Addie and Surinder went way above expectations in caring for her in an authentic way as they would for their own mother. In fact, they would call her "mama" when they came in to care for her. Their compassion to keep her comfortable and to keep the entire family comfortable, respected and cared for made them feel to us as part of our extended family. The care given to my grandma and to each of us in such a genuine manner with hugs, food, stories and compassion made this part of her end journey something that felt "right" and not sad.
