Adriane was recognized via an email for going above and beyond to help comfort a mother whose child was in cardiac arrest in the Pediatric ED.
Adriane came over from the adult ED and stayed with the mother while the Peds ED staff was busy providing care. The email stated, "Adrianne (adult nurse) was awesome with assisting the chaplain with Mom. She stayed with her and comforted her to the best of her ability while the peds staff participated in the resus. This act of kindness was so helpful and thoughtful. It gave Mom the opportunity to stay at the bedside and it did not take away one of the peds nurses."
Adriane went above and beyond to help support a mother and family during the loss of their 19-month-old child. Adriane stood beside the mother supporting her and explaining situations during the code. The mother, of course visibly and emotionally distraught, was comforted by Adriane and held Adriane so tightly for support. Adriane also was the support person for the family as they continued to grieve. Adriane's kindness and compassion were displayed professionally and empathetically. This made a horrible situation at least slightly more bearable for family and other staff members.
