Aina cared for my father after surgery. My father is 89 and can be a challenging patient, more so when he feels out of control and dependent on others. Aina was compassionate and professional the entire time. When I called to check on my dad on Sunday, two days post-op, I could hear my dad in the background. She was rightly worried about him falling, as he yelled that he was going to find the doctor. It was not one of my dad's finest moments, but Aina was understanding despite the unfounded accusations my father lobbied at her. When I arrived, Aina and I were able to work out a plan to help my dad with discharge with minimal disruption. She deserves more than a DAISY Award but this is what is currently available. Caring for elderly patients is not for the faint of heart. Aina has my respect and admiration. Thank you for your kind words and care. I am sorry for my father's harsh words and demeanor. Please know that he does appreciate the care you showed but was challenged to express it because of his own emotional trauma. We are grateful for the entire Henry Ford team.
