I was induced at 37 weeks pregnant very unexpectedly for gestational hypertension. My induction started out very successfully. After about 12 hours of labor, my labor stalled and did not progress after another 12 hours. At 7 pm after approximately 19 hours of labor, Aisha came on shift. She was the most caring and helpful nurse I have ever had the pleasure of having care for me. She immediately took charge of the room, helped me move into various positions, and helped me to advocate for myself for the type of labor I wanted. After 24 hours of labor, the decision was ultimately made that I would need a C-section. Aisha continued to advocate for my needs and supported my husband and me. We were both exhausted and terrified to have a C-section and she stayed by our side and made the process much easier. In recovery, she promoted breastfeeding and made sure both myself and the baby were recovering well. Aisha is an amazing nurse who truly cares for her patients. I’m so thankful she was with us during the birth of our daughter.
