I fainted in the department, and all my colleagues and Miss Aisha came to support me. I was admitted and she never left me alone, always beside me.
Miss Aishah Jowair, NM of ER department got 17 nominations from her department. Here is one story:
I have worked in the ER since 2006, In the year 2020 I started to feel alone because my family went home. I got sick but Aishah was always around to listen and make me feel like I am one of the family. In Nov 2020, I fainted in the department, and all my colleagues and Miss Aisha came to support me. I was admitted and she never left me alone, always beside me. I was discharged home with Holter. After the Holter result, the cardiac doctors decided to do surgery, I was hesitant to do it, I approached Miss Aishah, and I was crying and afraid. She assured me and supported me until I did the procedure. She came to UCC daily and sometimes twice a day to check on me. She even called my family to reassure them, that I am ok. I was finally discharged home.
After the surgery, I was planning to exit because of my condition and ER is a critical department, but Aishah refused that. She supported me. She spoke to the high administration to find a solution to keep me in the department with light duty. And I am thankful enough to be able to continue my work in ER. She really helped me because I was planning to exit despite my financial status.
In 2022, again I was admitted because of another issue, that I prefer to keep it private, the only person who knows about it is Ms. Aishah, I cried a lot that time. I was in a denial stage. She gave me a vacation to relax and get myself together. I asked her if I should go to India for another consultation, and she supported my decision of going home to my family and get another consultation. Without her empathy and support, I will never be able to work.
