Alessandra, who works in Medical-Surgical, was recognized by a co-worker for embracing the mindset that all patients are our patients, not just "your" patients and "my" patients. Although only having minimal contact with a particular patient, Alessandra made it her personal mission to make sure the patient would be able to get needed medication at an affordable price. After contacting the drug company, looking up coupon codes, and calling local pharmacies and a local doctor's office, she was able to get the patient a free month's supply. In addition, she ensured the right paperwork was filled out so that the patient could afford the medication going forward. Explaining, "You can get anything done when you use all of the resources around you," Alessandra truly advocates for all our patients.
