Alex took it upon herself to do every extra thing imaginable from spending extra time explaining every number on every machine to explaining every process to give my Dad the best care but also give me the ability to understand him when he could not speak, and got to know me and what I needed and supported my coping and healing as if I were another patient and as naturally as could be. Alex took the time to check in on me, to ask how she could help, and is instrumental in how I was able to keep it together and keep faith and positivity. Her caring words normalized situations that would have sent me into panic attacks otherwise. Her willingness to not just ask but to act in the best interest of both my Dad and by extension me brought me so much trust and comfort that I actually went home and slept a full night and ate full meals. Alex treated my Dad with such delicate care and compassion that I wouldn't have expected from even my own family.
