Despite intense pressure and challenges from others during the process, she remained calm, professional, and persistent.
I am an 80-year-old retired Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) with 53 years of hospital lab experience, and I’ve had numerous hospitalizations over the years. This is a tribute to Alex, the best RN I’ve ever had. From the beginning, Alex respected my medical background and kept me informed, which was crucial during my hospitalization for a kidney stone and severe UTI. She recognized my concerns about the severity of my infection and ensured my IV antibiotics were appropriate, going above and beyond to address my worries. Alex placed the most comfortable IV I’ve ever had, carefully selecting the best vein and ensuring I could move freely. She truly "had my back." When I remembered crucial lab results from a previous doctor’s visit, Alex didn’t hesitate to act. Despite intense pressure and challenges from others during the process, she remained calm, professional, and persistent. She made the necessary calls, reassured me with updates, and ensured I was ready before proceeding with my lithotripsy. Never in my life has anyone gone to bat for me like Alex. Her exceptional care, professionalism, and advocacy deserve recognition. Please consider her for the DAISY Award—she is a stellar RN and truly one of a kind.
