Alexis was born to do this and I am forever grateful she was there for me.
I spent 16 days in the hospital due to a blockage in my intestine from Crohn's disease. On the 9th day I ended up having surgery to remove the blockage. Alexis was my nurse for many of those days. She could not have been any better. Everything she did was done with patience, empathy, and extreme care. She was thorough in everything and always smiled and laughed with me no matter how bad I was doing. She brought a smile to my face every time I saw her. I could tell she really cared about me as a person and patient.
On numerous occasions she stayed beyond the end of her shift just to make sure I was completely taken care of. These selfless acts did not seem out of the ordinary for her. On my worst day, I broke down and started crying. Not only did she comfort me, she immediately called in the chaplain who further comforted me. Alexis was born to do this and I am forever grateful she was there for me.
