Alice Cherian goes above and beyond all expectations to help staff as well as patients on a daily basis. Alice's wealth of knowledge and experience makes her invaluable. There are numerous examples of Alice's kindness. One in particular involved a very anxious surgical patient whom; despite exhausting all options to appease her, found fault with everything from the water quality to the bedding to the tourniquet being applied too tightly. This patient needed to receive a blood transfusion. Alice stepped in and was able to calm the patient and family. Her presence alone had a significant effect on this family. The patient's outcome was excellent. I believe had Alice not intervened, the outcome would have been very different. In any emergency, Alice is at once at the patient's bedside. Her expertise in every situation truly saves lives.
