I was newly pregnant and came to the ED at BDMC due to severe nausea and vomiting. After 5 hours in the ED, I was admitted and spent a long night in the overflow in PACU. The bed and curtained room were so uncomfortable. The nurses were busy and did what they could, but I did not receive nausea meds the whole night. My mom stayed with me and we were unsure what was going on.
The next morning, I found out I was moving to a room in Antepartum. All I can say is that Aline Havens was an angel! She was so happy to see me and welcomed me like I was a friend. She immediately got my meds lined up, helped me shower, and made sure I knew all the blood work and test results. I never had to call her. She checked on me, made sure I had food once I could eat, and truly helped me feel less scared and well taken care of. I am so grateful for her kindness and compassion. Aline truly turned a really scary and unpleasant experience into a positive and caring time. I truly believe she is an angel and hope to see her again.
