Alison took the time to talk to him and alleviate some of his concerns.
My husband has had eight admissions since August 2022. This is his FOURTH time in the ICU. He has recently had a major surgery, which has permanently altered his gait. He has had several health issues and was in desperate need of speaking to someone. He reached out to EAP; however, no one was available for two days. He reached out to the Social Worker, and no one was available. He reached out to the Hospital Chaplain, but he was not on campus. I reached out to another Social Worker at ASC who said she'd be able to enter a phone call and send a referral to Behavioral Health, however, the likelihood of a provider being able to see him in a timely manner was unlikely.
Alison took the time to talk to him and alleviate some of his concerns. She was so very kind to put her patient FIRST and FOREMOST, taking care of the 'whole patient.' We feel she is definitely worthy of the DAISY Award. Thank you for being an amazing nurse.
