Mom and Dad couldn't be more thankful to have a nurse like Allie as a member of their care team, and they believe she will be a special member of their family for the rest of their lives.
Nothing is more exciting than having your first child, but when things go wrong, having someone like Allie next to you can mean the difference between life and death. Our patient came to the hospital ready to meet her son on exactly the day she had prayed for! Labor was progressing somewhat normally, but when the baby's heart began to decelerate, Allie was there to help calm mom and dad, talk them through everything, and collaborate with the provider to try different medical interventions that seemed to work for a while.
When the time came to push, so did more complications. Mom was rushed back to the OR for an emergency C-section, and Allie was right beside her, keeping her calm, explaining things, and making sure she and Dad were ok. After the baby was born, he was rushed to the NICU and followed by Dad. Allie stayed back with Mom, who soon experienced severe blood loss due to a burst hematoma. Allie stayed past her 12-hour shift to ensure that Mom was back in the room and stable. She ensured everything was all right before going home and ensured this family was her priority when she returned.
Allie was their nurse during their and the baby's extended stay, and each interaction was a blessing. Mom and Dad couldn't be more thankful to have a nurse like Allie as a member of their care team, and they believe she will be a special member of their family for the rest of their lives.
